- Step 2: Crack open the bleeder valve at the sticking wheel caliper. If the wheel immediately spins freely and a small squirt of high-pressure fluid escapes, the hydraulic line was holding pressure. This indicates the issue is upstream (brake hose restriction, proportioning valve, or master cylinder).
