Hydraulic Brake Fluid Compatibility & Wear Mechanics

Brake master and wheel cylinders are subjected to severe cyclical stress, operating at hydraulic pressures often exceeding 100 bar (1,450 psi). To prevent internal pressure bypass, the inner bore must maintain precise tolerances and low surface roughness. Our factories utilize diamond honing heads to achieve surface finishes below Ra 0.2 microns. This process minimizes seal wear and ensures consistent volumetric efficiency over millions of stroke cycles.

EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) elastomer seals are a critical wear component in hydraulic systems. We source premium-grade EPDM formulated to withstand extreme temperature ranges (-40°C to +120°C) and resist chemical degradation from modern glycol-ether-based fluids (DOT 3, DOT 4, and DOT 5.1). Our advanced compounding processes prevent seal swelling and softening, eliminating a common cause of fluid leakage and pressure loss in high-demand fleet environments.

Future Outlook: Integrating with Electric & Autonomous Platforms

The automotive industry is transitioning toward hybrid and fully electric drivetrains. In these architectures, regenerative braking changes the pressure distribution requirements within the hydraulic circuit. Traditional vacuum boosters are being replaced by electromechanical brake boosters and active brake actuators. Wuhu Qiujing is actively designing next-generation brake master cylinders configured to handle rapid, high-frequency pressure changes from automated emergency braking (AEB) systems.

Additionally, we are exploring weight reduction through aluminum alloys like AlSi1MgMn. Are your hydraulic components compatible with DOT 5 silicone-based brake fluid?

Our standard EPDM seals are designed for glycol-ether fluids (DOT 3, DOT 4, and DOT 5.1). If your application requires silicone-based DOT 5 fluid, please specify this during the inquiry stage.
